NSCN/GPRN ‘opposed to Designated Camp’

DIMAPUR, DECEMBER 19 (MExN): The Government of the People’s Republic of Nagalim (NSCN/GPRN) has stated that it was totally opposed to the establishment of NSCN-K Designated camp at Padumpukhuri/Purana Bazar area, Dimapur, Nagaland while pointing out that the “entire exercise is initiated to jeopardize the current peace process between the government of India and the NSCN”. This was stated in a press note issued by Chuba Pongen, Central Administrative Officer (CAO) Union Territory-I NSCN/GPRN.

“The action of the NSCN-K has also created a warlike atmosphere within the Dimapur area and this act has invoked fear psychosis to the innocent civilians especially during the Christmas season which is totally against Christian spirit”, stated the press note. The CAO has also pointed out that the “attitude of the Assam Rifles towards the NSCN-K cadres has also raised certain doubts in the minds of every right thinking Nagas as it has just been a silent spectator to the aggressive exercise of the NSCN-K cadres”. “It is evidently construed that Assam Rifles has been biased letting/allowing the NSCN-K cadres fully armed and in combat attires in public areas”.
The NSCN/GPRN stated that “Nagas are innocent victims of the Indian Divide and Rule Policy” and that Nagas “have been bleeding because of it”. “Nagas are for peace and that every Naga wherever he is and whoever he may be should be fully prepared for it. Thus, NSCN urges every sensible Nagas to combat against those forces who go against peace and tranquility of the land”.
