DIMAPUR, OCTOBER 13 : The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang has stated that it was “obliged to initiate corrective action on Azheto Zhimomi’s action of open defiance and abuse of the NSCN/GPRN”. “In order to avoid any public misconception, is it but obligatory to make public the nature of contempt and anti NSCN conduct of Azheto Zhimomi”, stated a press note issued by the MIP.
According to the NSCN Khaplang Azheto Zhimomi who is also a “timber businessman (Log Contractor), was requested by the Chaplee Ministry to clear pending annual revenue accounts of his firm”. In response he invited a Chaplee official Mr. Hemail Sumi to his official residence in Thahekhu, Dimapur, to finalize the balance accounts, informed the MIP note.
Accordingly the official on the 9th October, as per the appointment given, proceeded to Azheto’s residence in the official capacity as Chaplee staff of NSCN/GPRN. “However to his utter surprise Azheto Zhimomi along with members of Khehoi camp had been waylaying at his gate and apprehended Hemail Sumi on the spot itself”, the MIP note explained while adding that “with the directions of Azheto Zhimomi, Hemail Sumi was whisked away and is still being held in confinement at Khehoi camp”. The MIP note stated that such “unwarranted act of challenging the NSCN/GPRN by an individual is uncommon and highly contagious”.
“Be reminded that NSCN/GPRN is very particular of Azheto Zhimomi as a Log Contractor and his reprehensible crime, Azheto’s status or position as politician, public leader, MLA etc therefore need not be unnecessarily implied to this incident. Any vested interest should therefore be left out of this particular purview”, the press note stated.
The NSCN/GPRN Khaplang stated that it “would not hesitate to exact appropriate action against such anti NSCN element even in the days to come”.
