NSCN (I-M) Yimchungru region restructured

The NSCN (I-M) on Wednesday restructured the Yimchungru region of NSCN/GPRN at Sangphur village.
Thongmeth Wangnao, ‘kilonser’ ministry of health speaking on the occasion as the chief guest said that Yimchungru region was not new, it existed since the inception of Naga freedom movement. 
He said, with the increase of population and as the situation demanded, the previous Yimchungru region which comprises of various dialects was reconstituted for the betterment of people and government. 
He also appreciated the discerning wisdom of Yimchungru region whereby the GPRN was confident that there will be a positive development and changes in Yimchungru region. 
Wangnao further said, as far as the sacrifice and contribution made by the Yimchungru people in strengthening the Naga freedom movement was concerned, it was beyond human expression.
He also honored the pioneer of the Yimchungrus late ‘Gen.’ Hothrong, late Lakhum and Hopung ‘ex-tatar’ and many others who were involved in policy making and also in the war front for making of the Naga nation. 
He pointed out that, the Naga nation looks forward and hoped that, with the restructuring of the region, the Yimchungru youngster will follow the footsteps of their forefather and serve the nation with recommitment. 
The presidents of the Yimchungru Tribal Council, Yimchungru Akheru Arih-ako, GB’s Union, Public Forum Pungro Sub-Division, Shamator Area Public Forum and Yimchungru Women Organization also spoke at the inaugural programme. 
In their speeches, representing various organizations lauded the sincere effort made by the NSCN (I-M) government in fulfilling their earlier demand for ‘Yimchungru region’ and fully extend their cooperation and unflinching support towards the NSCN (I-M).
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by S.T. Kiutsa, steering committee member, while vote of thanks was proposed by ‘dy. Kilonser’ Lenthere. 
Other highlights of the inaugural programme were, folk dance by Shamator village, Shipongru village and special number from Sangphur village students union and Leangkongru students union. 
The programme was moderated by Hopung and Tsuyihba.
