13 defect to NSCN (I-M)
A total of 13 GPRN/NSCN activists including a ‘deputy kilonser’ defected to NSCN (I-M) with one Ak-56 rifle, in two days. Addressing a press conference on Wednesday at NSCN (I-M) headquarters, Hebron camp, Iheshe ‘deputy kilonser’ MRA (USR) who led the defection, said they joined the NSCN (I-M) as there was no sign of any talks between the government of India and GPRN/NSCN to solve the Naga political issue. “Naga political solution without talks may not be possible” he said. The other members who defected included ‘secretary of Tatar Hoho’ Shighoto (UT- I); ‘joint secretary & incharge’ Lota (Sumi region) Kahoi Swu, ‘deputy secretary’ (Saramati region) Tansumong, ‘under secretaries’ Inache (Sumi region), Nitokhe (USR), Khekiho (UT-1), Hokiye (UT-1); ‘sectional officer’ (UT-1) Hovito; ‘assistant sectional officer’ (UT-1) Anato; ‘2nd Lt.’ (Sumi) Hekugha Ayemi; ‘sgt. Maj.’ (Saramati) Khungakhiu and ‘private’ (Pochury) Ruchu.
Meanwhile, a statement from the MIP NSCN (I-M) said a joint council at Hebron organized a warm reception program for the 13 members coming from Khaplang (Khehoi camp).
