‘Nagas cannot be separated by anyone’
Dimapur, May 24 (MExN): Accusing the Government of India of adopting the British policy of colonial intrusion, NSCN/GPRN ‘kilo kilonser’ Rh. Raising has said that Nagas cannot be separated by anyone. Holding an ‘interaction on peace and current situation’ at Chumukedima local ground today, Raising said integration is the final solution to independence.
“Integration is about land…great wars have been fought for land,” Raising said. He said that people cannot be separated from their land and the NSCN will not deviate from its ideologies- to free Naga people from all economic and political bondages. “Enemies can kill us but they can never kill the issue,” he said. Rising reminded Naga people are not claiming what is not theirs. “We are not going to claim a hair of what belongs to the Meiteis,” he pointed out. He added that the NSCN/GPRN leadership has stuck to its ideologies for 18 years. “A revolutionary organization cannot survive without good leadership…we need good leaders to lead us…be it Issac, Muivah or any other person,” he said. He claimed that there is opposition even among Naga people but said it will not be moved or shaken by such circumstances.
Spelling out the priorities of the NSCN/GPRN, Raising said politics is the foremost followed by development. He said that in order to fulfill the objectives which the NSCN stands for, Naga people need to be independent. The leader said that Naga people must be free from Indian aggression, alien power and exploitation. “The future of Nagas will be decided by Nagas so we have to be economically self reliant,” Rising said. He said the NSCN/GPRN is trying to rectify wrongs so that Nagas can be self-reliant in all spheres of life. He added that Naga people are threatened by assimilation of foreigners and that the people must protect their rich resources, culture and heritage in order to keep their identity alive.
Speaking about the economic blockade in Manipur, the ‘kilonser education’, Vikiye Sema said that it is not the NSCN/GPRN’s doing. Raising said that the economic blockade was going on even before Th. Muivah arrived in Nagaland by Manipur organizations. He said it was propagated by some people that NSCN/GPRN imposed the economic blockade which is not true. “We are in the process of reconciliation,” he said and that no party should work against the interest of Nagas.
“We are diplomatic and tactfully drawing aside all enmity and differences… we are ready to forgive and forget for the greater Naga cause,” Vikiye said. He also condemned the assault on the members of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation. Vikiye said it is not in the spirit of reconciliation and that the perpetrators are spoiling the peace among Naga people.
Among the public leaders who attended the meeting, Naga Council President spoke about the inherent rights of the Naga people. The Hoho reaffirmed its full support to the Naga cause. “Nagas are Nagas… we have every right to our just rights and stand united,” the Hoho President said. Naga Women Hoho President, Hukheli Wotsa said that there should be no tribalism and Naga people should stand united. The Dimapur Naga Students’ Union, Chakro Public Organization, GB/DB’s Forum and GBs Association also reaffirmed their fight for the Naga cause.
